9 - 10 June El Burgo Ranero - Mansilla de las Mulas - Léon 19 + 19 = 38 km

Hans is up and ''running'' again and these last two days again consisted of walking along a footpath at the side of a very straight road for most of the time. It gets pretty warm in the afternoon and actually quite boring in the end. Naturally the closer we got to Léon the more traffic and also hotter walking through the city. In Mansilla we had booked a two man room in Pensjon La Blanca which was quite comfortable. As we had decided to take a days rest in Léon, we again booked a two man room in the well recommended Hospederia Monasteria Pax close to the nuns that still reside here and true to the tradition of the pelgrimage. Léon appears to be a lively town with an abundent amount of bars and restaurants in the streets and around the squares. Lots of people and families on the street enjoying a beer or a glass of wine while the kids are playing around. The city has another of those fine cathedrals along the Camino, this one not as splendid as Burgos, but still worth a visit.
