Aosta - Chatillon, 27 km, 13.09.22

We had a real nice 2 bedroom appartement in the centre of the old town and for the first time I felt like I had a good nights sleep after å good steak and wine. As we had a good stretch to  cover we were on the road at 07:30. I estimated it to take 9 hours and that's what we almost did use. The path often was sandy and rocky going steeply up an down high up along the slope of the Aosta valley. Tiresome for the feet and I wonder if not a blister is developing on the toes of my right foot. In many villages they are now harvesting the grapes and in one of these small villages they were offloading the grapes for processing. We got a bunch of grapes and they were deliciously tasty and sweet. They said  they were quite happy with the quality and the quantity this year. In Chatillon I have a nice BnB and a very sympathetic host who only speaks Italian and ask me what I wanted for breakfast. We found out by drawing pictures and some words that look like french. Hope he he got it right. After a good shower and washing some clothes I met the others in town for a beer and we hade å nice dinner (Sea Bream with tomatos and olives) with to much wine.. Sorry I couldn't finish this last night as I fell asleep writing this story although I slept very well.

To day 20 km to Verrès. Probably å track much the same as yesterday. Have a nice day!

    Fett år holding up allright sofaer. Don't Know about the shoes though. They are great to walk on, but I do not think they'll last to Rome. The sole is the weak point on these and they geert some rough treatment in the mountains

    Leuk Paul, al die voor mij bekende plekjes! Loop je zelf niet voorbij en geniet van elke stap! Ik loop nu ook in Italië en wel van Trento naar Bologna. Groet

    Wow wat een prachtige foto's weer! Goed naar lijf en voeten luistern Paul dat weet je toch wel!
    Heb je draad en naald bij je? Dan de blaar ontsmetten doorpr4ikken met naald end draad en draadje laten hangen... pleister erop en na 2 dagen eraf halen onder de douche en bij rust de sokken en schoenen uit!
    Je maakt een prachtige tocht!!

    Das mooi om te horen Paul! Ik had er eentje maar met draadje zo over en gen last meer gehad.
    Hoop dat je schoenen het houden. Anders toch verzolen of nieuwe, je voeten moeten nog langer mee... In elk geval weer succes voor vandaag en kijk uit naar je volgende verhaal.
