Cori - Sermoneta 6 November

6 november 2022 - Latina, Italië

To day's stage was fabulous. I can't think of a better way to spend a sunny Sunday than walking here in the mountains between Cori and Sermoneta. The view from the road some two to three hundred metres high is just breathtaking with the trees, the greens of the land, the deep blue sky and the Mediterranean with some small islands just visible far away to the west. Also the descend from the village of Norma along a narrow stoney pathway with large cactea on either side is beautiful. For those who are in the neighbourhood by car this stretch of road is herewith highly recommended.

Also met another pair of stray dogs. They walked quietly passed me keeping well clear and disappeared again. One looked like it was  a Golden Retriever but unkempt. First after they had passed I thought of taking a picture of them. For my own safety, I now have my knife hanging from the shoulders trap of my back pack so it is easily at hand just in case. I don't know if it will do any good but it just feels better.

I thought I had booked a BnB in Sermoneta, but it appeared to be 5 km to the west so I felt a bit annoyed with my own stupidity. I therefore had to get off the track before Sermoneta and walk more than an hour along this dangerous road.

Tomorrow's stage to Sezze is only 11 km and the plan is thus to first walk up the mountain to Sermoneta and then pick up the track again to Sezze. Not so much text to day but the pictures speak for them selves..
