28 april Sorges - Perigeux 23 km / 560 km E

28 april 2017

Again beautiful weather, however very cold in the morning (night frost) and a beautiful walk through large woods of oak, fir and pine trees to day. Gloves would have been good to ware.
No villages, cafees or other on the route, so just keep walking with a small break every now and then. Bring some food and drink to last for the trip. For me that's a baguette and a saucison sec. Others bring a sandwich bought the day before...
About 3,5 km before Perigeux we were luckily invited to coffee by a nice couple who say they do this all the time. To our surprise Bas from Holland was already sitting there and enjoying both coffee and cookies :-)
Perigeux is a nice town with a historical centre and an inmense and wonderful cathedral which we of course had to visit being pilgrims and all. We are sleeping in a communal gitte for pelerins which seems to be quite new and very nice without bunkbeds and only 2 or 3 to each room.
Evening meal (entrecote and baked potato) in a small restaurant completed the day. In bed by 21:15.
We also met Regine and Robert again in Perigeux and had a beer together. They return to Holland again tomorrow with the trail to Paris and Flixbus (?) to Amsterdam (bus takes 8 hrs and only 37 Euro!)
Good night to you all!
